  1. Does he consider that there might be reasons for that? Consider that most editors are bookish: they don't like to read a lighted screen; they might want to read on the train, or in a comfortable reading chair, or out on the patio. They might want to put sticky notes on things, or scribble margialia. They might fear hard drive crashes more than the dog eating the manuscript.

    Those who take joy in tech are always bewildered when others don't use it the way they darned well ought to.
