A federal judge in Georgia judge has, thankfully, seen through the ham-fisted tactics of some ‘creationists’ in Cobb County, a suburb of Atlanta; their latest ploy, to label science textbooks with the ‘warning’ that evolution is a theory, not a fact—apparently to ensure that their children are raised without a proper grounding in science—did not impress the court:
But the judge disagreed: “While evolution is subject to criticism, particularly with respect to the mechanism by which it occurred, the sticker misleads students regarding the significance and value of evolution in the scientific community.”
